My name is Renee Quick. I am a graduate of Hanceville High School. I attended Wallace State, then transferred to University of North Alabama for my Bachelor's degree. I earned my Master's degree at UAB, and completed post graduate studies at the University of Alabama.

I began teaching mathematics at Wallace State Community College in September 1988. I teach courses ranging from basic math through Calculus III.  I have participated on a variety of committees at the college, including the College Assessment Council, the Pathways Committee, and the Alumni Association Board. I served as Math Department Chair at WSCC from 2004 until 2018. I have served on the Alabama Department of Education Strategic Planning Committee on Mathematics and on the ACCS College Readiness Task Force; both of these groups have worked to improve education in the State of Alabama, in particular in the areas of Mathematics and English.

I am married to Keith Quick (since December 1987), and we have twin sons who are graduates of Cullman High School. One of my sons is the office manager in our family business, while the other the revenue manager for a medical group in Birmingham. As a family we enjoy drag racing, cruising in one of our classic cars (my favorite is our 1967 Chevy II), and spending summer days at the lake or the beach. Both of my sons are happily married. Our family has welcomed a new addition during the summer of 2021: I am a MawMaw! My first grandchild, Weston, has stolen our hearts!

On a more personal note, I was diagnosed (August 2016) with breast cancer. Following a double mastectomy, reconstruction, and a full course of chemo, I was cancer free for 3 years. Yearly scans and lab work that showed I also have leukemia (Philadelphia Positive Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, October 2019), and I am on a current chemotherapy regimen.
